  19. I can pass along what was told to me a few weeks ago when I asked about
  20. setting up a new studio centered around a blue screen.  It was suggested
  21. that I buy a book called The American Cinematographer's Handbook, seventh
  22. edition...I ordered a copy and am still waiting to receive it...it's about
  23. $50 and is over 660 pages.  American Cinematographer is a good magazine to
  24. check out too, and you may be able to order the book from here.

  29. I picked up a gallon of #39 Chroma Key Blue paint made by Muralo for $33 with
  30. shipping from Epstein & Sons (212-265-3960).  You'll get good results if you
  31. paint a piece of plywood or luaun and light it evenly.  Be sure to light the
  32. blue screen and your actor seperately.

  37. I'm still trying to figure that out...flourescent and incandescent bulbs are
  38. out...a good quality professional light kit will probably work best, just be
  39. sure to light the bluescreen evenly.

  45. Cheaper does NOT equal better, unless you have little or no budget
  46. whatsoever.  You most likely will not get good results if you use cloth, but
  47. if you have really good lighting you may be able to get away with it. I used 
  48. to produce a weekly Public Access TV show out of my basement that used a big 
  49. dark blue sheet and LOTS of lighting for background...it gave acceptable 
  50. results (for Public Access) but was a real bitch to work with sometimes!
